Three teen boys were among four people shot Saturday on the West Side, police said.
The latest shooting happened shortly before 7 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Parkside in the city's North Austin neighborhood, said Michelle Tannehll, a Chicago police spokeswoman.
Three teen boys were shot. A 17-year-old boy suffered a wound to the upper chest, and was take in serious condition to Stroger Hospital. Another boy, 15, was shot in the buttocks and abdomen. He was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital. The third boy, also 15, was shot in the leg. He was taken to Loyola University Hospital in Maywood where his condition was stabilized, Tannehill said.
Earlier Saturday, a 37-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting in a vacant building in the same neighborhood.
About 4:45 p.m., the man was inside a vacant building in the 5300 block of West Division Street when two men damaged the door and came inside. The two men then pulled out a handgun and shot the man in his stomach area when he tried to flee, said Tannehill.
The victim was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital.
No one was in custody, and police were investigating.
